HBR Blog on Three Myths about What Customers Want

As many of you know, I take great pleasure in questioning the assumptions we make in business.  I'm reading a great book right now named The Power of Habit -- Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business, by Charles Duhig, which is making me think many of our assumptions may well be habits.  But that's another story.

What I want to share with you today is a HBR Blog entitled "Three Myths about What Customers Want."  Here is the link to the blog.  And here are the three myths:

  1. Most consumers want to have a relationship with your brand.
  2. Interactions build relationships.
  3. The more interaction the better.
Read the Blog to see why these are myths and what the authors suggest you do differently as a result.
